This role will focus on development and integration of electrical and mechanical systems for our fleet of Vehicles.

Key job responsibilities
Build, and improve electro-mechanical systems throughout the large-scale supply chain network.
· Focus on critical systems that serve major parts of the business.
· Serve as a technical lead for most medium to large scale - projects in the department or business.
· Ensure broad, company-wide compatibility.
· Recommend improvements to the way systems are built and deployed across the company.
· Lead design reviews for other engineers, and offer feedback on architecture and design issues, as well as system integration, performance, and scalability issues.
· Execute and drive results on large-scale projects or multiple smaller projects
· Write business case and negotiate solution with software community (partnership towards solution).
· Map physical and virtual worlds together.
· Critique vendor input.
· Apply advanced physical and virtual engineering theory and skills to architect, design and build complex systems.
· Involved in scoping the physical (equipment and work method processes) requirements for a new project, and identifying the appropriate technology solutions for each project.
· Work very closely with technical leads, systems engineers, and business teams to make sure that the pieces of the complex system work well with the other dependent systems.
· Play a significant role with TPMs and engineering managers to determine potential risks to a schedule.
· Lead engineer. Very independent work, with little review by more senior engineers.
· Decisions will make a significant, measurable impact on the business goals for the department or business.
· Help develop long-term department technology strategies and significantly influences the cross-company engineering processes and standards.
· Influence engineering best practices.
· Under limited to no supervision of Sr. Engineer
· Operate with significant autonomy and discretion.
· Work requires significant creativity and judgment
· Provide technical leadership for large-scale industrial engineering projects using MS Excel, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and MS Projects.
· Work with complex MHE and packaging lines and process design based on Lean Manufacturing.
· Provide leadership and coordination between internal departments and vendors for multiple sites.
· Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing.
· Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
