We are hiring a Portfolio Manager, Strategy Activation to provide strategic leadership and motivation to management and project teams with a focus on enterprise goals and initiative outcomes to drive Steelcase’s value creation.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Work with executives to actively build, manage, and maintain a portfolio of the company’s most critical and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensures the portfolio achieves the desired strategic and business results, decisions are made, issues are resolved, and corrective action plans are identified. Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent portfolio value leakage.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) framework to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to improve project management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Develop and deliver training materials to educate stakeholders on strategy activation and project management best practices.
  • Partner with other functional project portfolio leaders to ensure alignment and effectiveness of Inc portfolio design. Create and manage flexible project management systems to collaborate with internal partners.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communications; relationship building as well as presentation skills to present project concepts at all levels within the company.
  • Strategic Decision Making: Obtaining information and identifying key issues and relationships relevant to a long-range goal or vision
  • Consulting or coaching experience: Strong ability to teach others complex processes and frameworks to scale impact. Emotional intelligence is critical.
  • Ability to see ‘big picture’ and zoom into relevant details to drive appropriate level of action.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in managing 2-3 full lifecycle and complex projects
  • Experience working with web-based project management software
  • User-centered process design experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Strong Smartsheet administrative build experience or knowledge
  • Strong change management skills
  • Experience working with executive leaders
