As a critical support role within the dealer concierge team, the Sales Assistant - Material Sampling, works directly with the MillerKnollSales Team, Dealers and with A+D to fulfill the material sampling needs for all clients.

In this role the Sales Assistant - Material Sampling will be the primary point of contact and fulfillment for material sampling requests that support day to day selling activity. They will receive requests from the field and based on timing and need of the request they will order or create a package of samples to be sent to designers.

This position requires a minimum of 3 days in the MillerKnoll Main site offices in Zeeland, MI and could be subject to change.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Understand how Materials and the need for samples impact the selling process.
  • Translate request from seller including samples needed and timeline.
  • Order samples using internal systems.
  • Understand complexities of sourcing finishes across brands.
  • Contact brand partners to fulfill requests outside of standard MillerKnoll systems.
  • Curate large sample requests.
  • Ability to gain clarity on requests via communication back with requestor.
  • Represent MillerKnoll brands in correspondence with our A&D and Dealer Partners.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of the materials offering across all MillerKnoll brands.
  • Assists in special projects or assignments as necessary.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

  • One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency required.
  • Associate's Degree degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a customer service, sales, or a direct commercial customer contact position; manufacturing or service industry.
  • Previous customer service and/or project management experience.
  • Desire to grow in Dealer Concierge, Sales or other positions within MillerKnoll.
  • Contract furniture or textile experience preferred.

  • Customer driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills.
  • Extremely responsive with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Must be deadline-oriented.
  • Exhibits an assertive and confident professional posture; can conduct activities independent of immediate supervision and represent MillerKnoll in a professional manner.
  • Ability to flex schedule to accommodate range of requests.
  • Ability to process orders through proprietary sample system.
