Patient Registration Team Coordinator-Patient Access*Evening 40hr/wk

Shift: Evenings

General Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Manager – Patient Access, the Team Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day staffing, planning, and work distribution of the team. This role is considered a working coordinator and subject matter expert within the roles of the Revenue Cycle and has a limited leadership scope.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • College education preferred or 1-2 years of prior experience in Revenue Cycle.
  • Certified Healthcare Associate Certification required or obtained within one year of hire.
  • Medical Terminology preferred.
  • CPT-4 and ICD-10 knowledge preferred.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and create work schedules for employees to ensure adequate staffing coverage in all locations. If staffing concerns arise, they’re responsible to cover the shift as a working coordinator.
  2. Responsible for initial coaching conversations regarding employee relations relating to our UMHW values, performance concerns or in adherence against policies and procedure. Documents employee interactions used to help mentor, coach, train and promote the development of all team members.
  3. Responsible to participate and lead employee meetings, huddles and/or training sessions along with leadership and follow-up with initial requests.
  4. Manage daily tasks to ensure all are addressed in a timely manner, email requests, review patient work queues and dashboards continuously throughout the day and address inquiries immediately.
  5. Analyze department reports, work queues, and dashboards to ensure quality performance metrics and KPI’s are met and will initiate training sessions if necessary.
  6. Serve as an initial liaison between employees and all organizational departments while responding to inquiries and/or concerns in a timely manner. Continuously updates leadership of departmental concerns or issues.
  7. Identifies improvement opportunities while participating in the launch, development, implementation, and resolution of the project along with departmental leadership.
  8. Assists leadership with performance evaluations by obtaining employee data and contributing day-to-day feedback to support and enhance employee performance to achieve KPI’s and goals.
  9. Responsible to communicate and educate employees regarding errors in API Symplr Workforce to ensure accurate payroll records and timecards align with budget. Communicate with leadership if errors continue to arise with employees.
  10. Responsible for the planning, leading and organization of coverage for all planned and unplanned downtime events.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols, and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning, and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
