Position Summary:
As a Quoting Representative, you will be orchestrating accurate and competitive quotes for commercial projects. Your role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless customer experience while supporting the company’s profitability goals. You’ll dive into project documents, liaise with vendors, and master the art of cost analysis. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work closely with your supervisor to refine quotes, address issues, and seize opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. Your expertise in products, industrial standards, and customer service will shine as you juggle multiple tasks and adapt to change with ease.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a positive customer experience.
- Read project documents and understand the work required.
- Handle smaller, standard jobs.
- Get material prices from vendors or the computer database.
- Perform cost analysis and create accurate, competitive quotes.
- Scan vendor quotes into Monday.com.
- Use main line multipliers correctly.
- Inform your supervisor about any mistakes or missing items.
- Prepare quote updates with your supervisor’s help.
- Report quote issues or customer complaints to your supervisor.
- Upsell and cross-sell when appropriate.
- Work with your supervisor to increase company profit.
- Choose products from preferred vendors to support company goals like rebates.
- Attend training sessions and meetings.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance and work safely.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understand the products and how they are used.
- Know the industrial and legal standards for quotes.
- Manage multiple tasks and adapt to change easily.
- Communicate clearly and provide good customer service.
- Use basic math to calculate margins, discounts, and other figures accurately.
- Be skilled in sales, negotiation, teamwork, and handling stress.
- Use Microsoft Office, Eclipse, and Monday.com.
- Read and follow safety rules and instructions.
- Operate standard office equipment.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 6 to 12 months of related experience and training.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Often sit, talk, listen, and use your fingers.
- Regularly walk, stand, reach, grasp, and handle items.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Stay alert and work safely at all times.
- Have clear close-up vision (20 inches or less).
- Work mainly indoors in a moderately noisy area.
- Pass a substance abuse screening.
