Oversees and sets the direction for the Strategic Response department whose responsibility is to deliver a highly effective sales response capability for strategic business opportunities to drive profitable growth. Directs and sets winning strategies for "must win" global and National opportunities in the Opportunity Room. Oversees the Spec Optimization capability to increase win rates and share of wallet with dealer partners. Directs and leads the Visualization team to prioritize and create winning visualization responses. Leveraging learning and proactively champion all of the Strategic Response capabilities across the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Determine and set team strategy and vision, identify and prioritize initiatives to achieve assigned goals for target win rate, revenue and margin growth.
- Direct and lead all activities, strategy and processes of the Opportunity Room, Visualization, and Spec Optimization teams, utilizing the corporate tools and resources provided for optimal results.
- Directs a dedicated team to partner with the sales organization on top opportunities and specification optimization.
- Drive meaningful change in our effort to make it easier to do business with MillerKnoll.
- Engage with dealer partners on spec optimization and rules of engagement to increase share of wallet and meet agreed upon targets.
- Ensure dealer relationship is mutually beneficial, growing win rate while also teaching dealer designers to optimize their specs and improve overall results for long term sustainable growth.
- Grow spec optimization capability and make it sustainable at the dealership level and in strategic markets.
- Participates and conducts sales calls and presentations as required.
- Report key findings and trends to corporate leadership to drive continuous improvement in sales, product development and other related departments.
- Responsible for managing, coaching, training and mentoring the Strategic Response team.
- Responsible for providing timely and accurate reporting to the organization to measure success, leveraging data to improve corporate tools, resources and products.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Design, Sales, Marketing or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8-10 years of experience in relevant, design or project management role, ideally in the contract furniture industry.
- 3 years of experience in leadership with a proven track record of developing talent and delivering results.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be an assertive, self-starter with the self-confidence and ability to represent MillerKnoll in a professional manner in order to gain a high level of confidence from a diverse group of customers.
- Demonstrated high level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate information, ideas, procedures and
- processes in a logical sequence; at a level appropriate to the audience and resulting in effective working relationships.
- Advanced knowledge of field sales, customers, dealers and their business challenges.
- Proven time management skills and ability to work well under shifting conditions with competing priorities and demonstrate
- agility in generating solutions to new and ambiguous situations.
- Demonstrated leadership competence as defined in MillerKnoll Leadership Skills and Behaviors.
- Must have the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation/communication software and tools.
