We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Mortgage Loan Originator in the Grand Rapids, Michigan market. United Bank is searching for driven individuals who are focused on building relationships with our customers by meeting their mortgage loan objectives. Whether you have several years of experience or are new to the mortgage industry, we would love to help you achieve your personal and professional goals.
The Mortgage Loan Originator position is a fundamental position at United Bank. Mortgage Loan Originators have the important role of building relationships and generating sales in the assigned market for home loan applications and closings. You will assist new and existing customers with inquiries and providing mortgage information. You will interview loan applicants and explain appropriate mortgage products and related bank products to them. You also need to be extremely detailed, as you will complete loan applications and related documents, along with examining customer financial statements, credit reports, employment profiles and real estate property information to evaluate mortgage qualifications on a preliminary basis. You must have transportation to meet with clients on and off site. You may conduct construction inspections and have the ability to work varied weekend and evening hours. You will also be responsible for areas of compliance as it relates to your position and may be assigned special projects or additional duties.
This position requires:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university;
- 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training;
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Interfaces, and Web applications;
- To register and maintain NMLS Unique Identifying Number;
- Regular sitting, occasional standing and walking;
- Utilizing hands & arms;
- Ability to talk & hear;
- Required to have clear vision at 20 inches or less;
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
