We are hiring a Sr. Software Developer that will be focused on the development and delivery of systems at Steelcase using modern cloud hosted solutions. You’ll be responsible for the technical design, development, testing, deployment, and support of technical solutions.



What You Will Be Doing:


As a senior developer, you’ll work closely with the team to ensure quality solutions are being provided through code reviews, system reviews, and vendor analysis. You will also be requested to review and implement other third-party add-ons that meet specific business needs. Key responsibilities and expectations include:

  • Follow coding standards and look for opportunities to improve code quality and system performance.
  • Be an active member of an agile team. You’ll provide input on technical details, review/decompose/write story cards, participate in agile events, and occasionally demo your work to stakeholders.
  • Understand and maintain proper security controls including interacting with automated security scanning tools and third-party penetration testing.
  • Be involved in reviewing and approving code completed by other developers.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Uphold Steelcase core values.



Your Future Team:


You will be part of the Dealer Business Tools team, located in Steelcase’s business center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The team consists of IT professionals across four countries (USA, Malaysia, Mexico, Romania). You will also work with external consulting firms to round out the development team. You will be part of the Dealer Business Tools team within Steelcase Information Technology department. We work with customers to define user stories, design and architect solutions, and execute projects from beginning to end. Our work primarily takes place within the Salesforce B2B Commerce Cloud environment.

Required Skills & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience
  • At least 4 years of experience developing on web hosted applications or military-equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience developing OOP Solutions
  • Minimum 4 years of experience using SQL for relational databases
  • Proficient in working with .NET and Webservices
  • Experience in using GIT
  • Experience in unit and functional testing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and have experience working in team settings.



Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in Agile development Methodologies
  • Web frameworks (Bootstrap, jQuery, or similar)
  • Experience with REST webservices

The annual base salary range for this position is $91,500 - $148,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Steelcase considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
