Opus Packaging is currently seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to oversee our three facilities in Caledonia, MI, Jackson, MI, and New Bremen, OH. This position is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental programs. The successful candidate will be a self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with production and maintenance teams in coherence with promoting the corporate vision, mission statement, and core values of Opus Packaging. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate will ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed. Associate will perform all duties in a safe manner and will immediately report any safety concerns to Management and maintenance. Essential duties and responsibilities shall include the following: â€¢ Manage OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements. â€¢ Help develop controls for identifying hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from the result of a Job Safety Analysis. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents and injuries. â€¢ Coordinate with Plant Managers on development and implementation of health and safety procedures and policies. â€¢ Plan, develop and implement OSHA required safety training for new employee orientation and annual required OSHA programs. Assist in new hire orientation. â€¢ Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations. â€¢ Manage safety related projects with Production and Maintenance teams. â€¢ Compile, analyze, interpret, and investigate all incidents. Review incident reports to provide corrective and preventative actions. â€¢ Coordinate noise monitoring as well as air quality surveys. â€¢ Schedule and manage Safety Committee meetings. â€¢ Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in OSHA safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements. â€¢ Purchasing of safety supplies, products or training items when required. â€¢ Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Minimum Business and/or Safety related Bachelor's Degree preferred. 3 years related experience in safety, environmental, or health management and compliance.
